Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Program
The Children's Health℠ Integrated Behavioral Health Program has partnered with more than 25 pediatric primary care providers throughout the Greater Dallas area to make behavioral health care easier to access. The purpose of this program is to meet the needs of our community by helping children and teens struggling with depression and anxiety receive early, prompt intervention.
If you or your child’s doctor are concerned about your child’s mental health, our licensed mental health professionals can evaluate your child at your child’s primary care office or via telehealth – whichever way is more convenient for you.
Based on our evaluation, we can refer your child to services in your community, provide short-term therapy and ensure communication with your child’s PCP about the treatment plan. Our goal is to help your child get the mental health care they need, when and where they need it.
No cost mental health evaluation
Our telephonic mental health evaluations and recommendations are provided at no cost. The goal of these evaluations is to help us work with you to create a treatment plan to improve your child’s mental health.
If our evaluation shows that your child could benefit from short-term therapy, we’ll provide an estimate for the cost of therapy before we begin. We are in network with most commercial and Medicaid insurance plans.
Easier access to expert behavioral health care
Many parents struggle to connect their children to quality mental and behavioral health care. We make it easy – by setting up a mental health evaluation appointment for your child before they leave their primary care provider's office. You can choose to have the evaluation in-person at your primary care office or virtually from the comfort of home.
After the evaluation, we'll share the results and recommend a treatment plan to your child's pediatrician in case they need to prescribe medications or schedule another appointment.
If you have any questions, you can call your child’s pediatrician just as you would with any other appointment or health concern.
More knowledgeable primary care providers
We love supporting primary care providers (PCPs) about how to provide more mental health support in their offices. PCPs that partner with us gain confidence and experience providing:
Mental health screenings, such as depression or anxiety questionnaires
Medications for ADHD, anxiety, depression and other conditions
Referrals to community resources and services such as support groups or treatment programs specific to conditions like eating disorders
Referrals to different levels of psychiatric services, such as outpatient care for bipolar disorder or inpatient care for suicide prevention
Education on how to support your child’s wellbeing, emotionally and physically
