Meet our staff
Kristin Scott, PhD Pediatric Psychologist, Plano Campus
How long you’ve been with Children’s Health℠ The Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence?
I’ve been with the Reese‑Jones Center since March 2021 but have been a part of the Children’s Health network since August 2017. I first joined Children’s Health as a postdoctoral psychology fellow in their suicide intensive outpatient program and then transitioned to the psychologist position for the child & adolescent inpatient psychiatry unit prior to joining the Reese‑Jones Center.
Where did you go to school?
For undergraduate, I attended Howard University in Washington, DC, and for graduate school, I attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
What is your hometown?
Garland, TX
What is your favorite part of working at the Reese‑Jones Center?
I love that we’re providing access to quality care for kids who are especially in need of it. And I love that we provide such instrumental support and help building resilience for children and families.
What are your favorite activities outside of work?
Spending time with my family, binge-watching Netflix series and browsing Pinterest for DIY projects I can take on in my home.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I was breeched and born tongue-tied. Since I didn’t have any eating or speech issues growing up, my parents never had it corrected. In high school, my flute teacher asked that I have it corrected so that I could play faster pieces; I politely declined.
Regarding being breeched, every year on my birthday my mom loves to post on Facebook various well wishes that always allude to her knowing I would be ambitious/successful because I, “came into the world running.” Gotta love family!
What is your favorite quote?
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”- President Barack Obama
Anything else you want our families to know about you or the Reese‑Jones Center?
I’m just so excited to be a part of the Reese‑Jones Center team and to have the honor of working with our children and families!
