Overview of the Genetic Counseling Internship/Summer Rotation
We offer 1-2 unpaid summer internships per year for current genetic counseling masters degree students, to be completed between the 1st and 2nd year of study
All rotations are at the Children’s Medical Center Dallas campus
The intern is expected to be present 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship, which is generally between 4-8 weeks in length
The internship consists of supervised genetic counseling, constructive feedback, case preparation, and other projects as needed
The internship requires that an affiliation be in place between Children’s Health and the graduate
Below is a list of schools currently affiliated with Children’s Health. We will consider adding additional schools with genetic counseling programs on a case by case basis:
University of Alabama at Birmingham
University of South Carolina
University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Houston
Howard University
